Note: This article expands on our "Limitations of Historical Trending" documentation, which explains:
"Salesforce Historical Trending Reports do not use Dated Exchange Rates from Advanced Currency Management (ACM). Instead, they use the static exchange rate defined on the org's main currency page. This article explains how Historical Trending and Advanced Currency Management interact, and how to ensure the correct exchange rates are reflected in reports." (This applies only to orgs that haven't enabled Advanced Currency Management)
Here's how "Dated Exchange Rates" and "Historical Trending Reports" work in conjunction with one another.
Exchange Rates Work in Historical Trending ReportsAll fields in Historical Trending Reports that are labeled 'Historical' use the static exchange rate from the org's main currency page (Setup | Company Profile | Manage Currencies in Classic, or Setup | Company Settings | Manage Currencies in Lightning Experience). These fields do not use the most recent Dated Exchange Rate from Advanced Currency Management.
(already partially present — expand with the note about non-Historical fields using dated exchange rates)
