Note: This article expands on our "Limitations of Historical Trending" documentation, which explains:
"Dated exchange rates are not supported. When you run the historical trend report, it only uses the latest dated exchange rate." (This applies only to orgs that haven't enabled Advanced Currency Management)
Here's how "Dated Exchange Rates" and "Historical Trending Reports" work in conjunction with one another.
All fields on Historical Trending Reports followed by the word "Historical" use the "static" exchange rate from your org's main currency page and don't use the most recent Dated Exchange Rate as found within Advanced Currency management.
Your org's administrator must update exchange rates in both locations to utilize the actual "Latest Dated Exchange Rate" from your "Advanced Currency Management" settings.
Note: For all other currency fields (including the standard "Amount" field), dated exchange rates are used and calculated based on the "close date" of the opportunity, when applicable.
