This article explains how to resolve the temporary dataset unavailability error in CRM Analytics. When a dataset has not been accessed recently or has just been refreshed by an external data job or sfdcRegister dataflow transformation, the worker servers may not have a local copy, triggering this error. Opening the dataset once initiates automatic replication
When you access a dataset in CRM Analytics, the following error may appear:
"The data required to execute the query is temporarily unavailable. Please retry the request at a later time."
This error usually appears when you haven't accessed a dataset for an extended period of time or if the dataset has just been updated by an external data job or sfdcRegister dataflow transformation. In this scenario, the worker servers handling Analytics requests do not all have a local copy of the dataset. When the error occurs, the dataset is automatically copied to any needed workers.
Open each affected dataset once to generate the error message. The dataset will automatically begin the process of copying to all needed servers.
After the copy process completes, the dataset should be accessible without causing the error.
Note: It may take several minutes for larger datasets to finish copying to all servers. You will continue receiving the error until the entire copy process has been completed.
The error can also occur if a referenced dataset does not exist in the environment (like after a sandbox refresh). Validate that all datasets referenced in the impacted query are actually present in the environment. Once validated, run Recipes, Dataflows, and/or CSV file uploads to refresh the Dataset.
