Cases with no Record Type are assigned the default Record Type of the User who edits them

Дата публикации: Aug 22, 2024
Описание
After enabling record types on the Case object, updating any existing Cases which do not have a record type specified will assign the editing user's default Case Record Type to those records.
Решение

This is the expected behavior of the Case object when record types have been enabled.

Note that this behavior applies only when updating a Case that does not already have a record type. If you need to ensure that this behavior does not cause any Cases to change record type automatically, make sure that all Cases have a record type assigned. This can be done as follows:

  1. After the Case Record Types have been created, ensure there is at least 1 record type assigned to every profile, so no new cases will be created without a record type.
  2. Also after Case Record Types have been created, update or mass update any preexisting cases which have no assigned record type and assign them the desired record type.
