Reasons for Performance Issues in Salesforce Report Builder

  • The Permission Sets assigned to the User are in excess of 50
  • The number of Records being returned by the Report is more than 2,000

Report Builder performance issues in Salesforce are often caused by a high number of Permission Sets assigned to the running user (more than 50) or a large number of records being returned (over 2,000). The following recommendations help diagnose and improve load times.

Recommendations to Improve Report Builder Load Speed

  • Review the details in our Improve Report Performance: Best Practices documentation.
  • Restrict the number of Permission Sets assigned to the Running User to no more than 50.
    • If you find that a User requires more than 50 Permission Sets, revise or condense them as appropriate.
    • Merging Permission Sets may be worthwhile to eliminate duplication. See Permission Set Groups.
