Account Engagement Salesforce Connector Permissions Warnings

Fecha de publicación: Sep 30, 2025
Descripción

Account Engagement's Connector user needs permissions on the records in Salesforce for the sync to work properly. Incorrect permissions will display an error reading 'WARNING: Your connector user doesn’t have the recommended permissions, which can affect how Account Engagement data syncs with Salesforce. ' If you are unsure how to fix this, please follow these steps! Make sure you work with your Salesforce Administrator as they will need to make the necessary changes.

If you do not want the connector user to have access to the fields listed in the banner pop up, you do not have to make these changes; but keep in mind that Account Engagement will not have access to data in those fields, which could cause confusion to users or lead to a mismatch between the information present in Salesforce and Account Engagement.

1. To view the Connectors page to see if your account has the "View missing expected Salesforce permissions for your connector user" orange banner message:
-- In Account Engagement Classic: select Admin and then Connectors.
-- In the Account Engagement Lightning app: select Account Engagement Settings and then Connectors.
2. Once you see the pop up with the necessary fields' permissions:

  •  You need to adjust field-level security (FLS) at a profile level in Salesforce.
  •  The Account Engagement Permission Set cannot be adjusted in Salesforce to change permissions.

For the Connector User, you want to check to see if their Salesforce profile has FLS for the fields mentioned. Otherwise, you will continue to see that banner warning until you modify the FLS for these fields in Salesforce.

Example permission errors:

Please change the Field-Level Security on the following field names:
Note: these are the field names, not the field labels:

AccountNeed Read Access to: AnnualRevenue, Industry

For one of those sample permissions:

For Classic: In Salesforce, you navigate to Setup | customize | [Account] | fields | [AnnualRevenue].
For Lightning: From the Setup AppPlatform Tools | Objects and Fields | Object Manager | Select the object (i.e. Account) | Fields & Relationships | Select [AnnualRevenue]

* 'View Field Accessibility' is where you'd see if it's hidden or editable.
* 'Set Field-Level Security' is where you set it to 'visible' or 'read-only' or neither.

You want to be sure that your Connector User's profile has visibility into this field and it is not 'hidden'.

In this example, you'll want to follow the same click path for the field on the [Account] level for the others listed above, as well.
For example: Setup | customize | [Account]  | fields | [Industry].

NOTE: To make changes to the FLS, your Salesforce user profile will need both of these necessary permissions, read our documentation that covers this information. If you do not have these permissions, a user with a "System Administrator" role may need to make the change for you.
