Attachments on Email Templates Showing 'Replaced AttachmentX.txt' Using Login Access

Описание

When testing email templates that have attachments and sending emails, admins may notice that attachments are replaced with text files named Replaced AttachmentX.txt where X is the number of attachments in the email. Ie, if the email has 3 attachments, they will be renamed Attachment1.txt,  Attachment2.txt,  Attachmen3.txt,

Additionally, the body of the attachment will read:

Because an admin sent this email from Salesforce on your behalf, we replaced file <filename.ext> with this text file.

The original attachments in the template are not delivered.

Решение

This behavior occurs when a Salesforce administrator logs into the org as someone else and sends emails with attachments.

The behavior is one of the security feature that prevents users logged in as other users from sending or downloading files, whether it's attachments, log files, etc. It is not restricted to email templates and it is expected behavior.

If an admin needs to test an email template, they should not do it when logged in as another user.
