CRM Analytics Datasets are missing or return errors after Sandbox refresh

Description

CRM Analytics Datasets consist of 2 parts:

  • The container (metadata) defines the system properties of the dataset: DevName, Label, App, etc.
  • The contents are the dimensions and measures that populate the rows of the dataset

 

Handling for a Sandbox refresh

Sandbox refreshes carry over the container but no contents.
This means that the dataset won't be visible in the UI and will either error or not return meaningful results when queried. The resulting error is usually identified with the following stacktrace ID: (-919394781)

Resolution

Repopulate Datasets after a Sandbox refresh

1. Replication and External Connectors will need to be run and scheduled
2. External Data jobs will need to be run
3. CSV-sourced datasets will need to be re-uploaded
4. Dataflows will need to be run and scheduled
5. Recipes will need to be run and scheduled
