When configuring field-level help text (tooltips) in Salesforce Lightning Experience, line breaks or carriage returns entered in the help text field are not saved or displayed. The help text renders as a single continuous line of plain text, ignoring any formatting.

Why Line Breaks Are Not Supported

Field-level help text (tooltips) in Lightning Experience is designed to display only plain text. This supports the best practice of showing simple, concise guidance about a field. Advanced text formatting, including line breaks, is intentionally not supported in this context.
