WannaCry Ransomware

Salesforce is aware of reports of a ransomware campaign named WannaCry (also known as WCry and WannCrypt0r) impacting many Windows devices around the world. To date, this campaign has not impacted Salesforce.

This malware uses a recently published Windows vulnerability known as “Eternal Blue.” Microsoft released a patch for the Windows vulnerability used by this ransomware, which you can find here: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/msrc/2017/05/12/customer-guidance-for-wannacrypt-attacks/. 

Salesforce regularly identifies and patches all vulnerabilities in a timely manner per our vulnerability management process. To date, we have no reported cases resulting from this ransomware. Additionally, there has been no impact to Salesforce systems as a result of this campaign.
 
The Salesforce Security team continually scans our systems for vulnerabilities and takes proactive measures to help protect our customers and their data. We will continue to monitor for this attack as well as any new malware variants.
