The Middle Name and Suffix fields are optional name components available on Contact, Lead, Person Account, and User objects in Salesforce. If these fields are enabled org-wide, they appear on record layouts. This article explains how to disable Middle Name and Suffix fields across the entire organization via User Interface settings.
Note: The 'Salutation' field is mandatory and cannot be removed from the Layout.
Note: These settings apply org-wide and affect all records on Contact, Lead, Person Account, and User objects.
1. Click Setup | Customize | User Interface.
2. In the 'Name Settings' section, deselect Enable Middle Names for Person Names and Enable Name Suffixes for Person Names.
3. Click Save.
