Account Engagement Emails are going to Spam or not being received

Publiceringsdatum: Apr 16, 2024
Beskrivning
For email sending, "Delivered" means the receiving server has accepted an email. Once it gets to the receiving server and is accepted, it’s considered delivered.

“Delivered’, in this case, does not necessarily mean delivered to the inbox. It simply means the receiving server has accepted the email. Once a receiving server accepts an email, it’s up to the *receiving server* to determine where the email goes (spam, quarantine, or inbox).

It’s similar to sending a package to a business in that we know the letter got to the company’s mail room. We do not have any way of tracking whether that letter got to the person’s desk. We only know it was accepted by the company. It's up to the receiving server to decide if an email gets to the inbox or to the spam folder.

Test email deliverability

- Make sure your Email Domain is authenticated
- Make sure your IT team has allowlisted your sending IP
- Check this article to avoid spam filters

Tests to run

Email 1: Your content

Send one of your custom templates with a sender from your authenticated domain. Send to both an internal recipient and an external recipient (such as a personal, non-work email address).

Where does this email go (inbox / spam) ? Record response down.

Email 2: Neutral content

Create a blank email in your account that includes some basic text. Make the sender from your authenticated domain. Send to both an internal recipient and an external recipient (such as a personal, non-work email address).
Where does this email go (inbox / spam) ? Record response down.
Try sending these also from your work place + a home address (different IPs), see if that has any effect as well. Record your responses.

Still need help? Put your responses in a support ticket + include links to all 2 of the emails you tested.

To test domain health, we recommend your IT team configure Postmaster Tool for Gmail. This can help going forward see what the results are. Account Engagement Support can't assist configuring this, and it will only show results on future email sends. Feel free to share your results once another email is sent from this domain. It will let you know what Google thinks of your domain. If in the end the domain health is poor, we'd recommend configuring a new domain or a subdomain.
