Format 'Date' and 'Date Time' fields for import with the Data Import Wizard

Description

If values for "Date" and "Date Time" data type fields are not properly formatted, users may receive an error on import or update of records via the Data Import Wizard:


INVALID_FIELD:Failed to deserialize field at col 0. Due to, '<Date/TimeValueFromFileHere>' is not a valid value for the type xsd:dateTime:<Date_Time_Field_Here__c> --
 

The corresponding values in the CSV file must have a specific format that corresponds with the Locale that's set for the user performing the import.
 
Résolution


Set Date and Date/Time field values in your file based on the format for the locale of the user that's running the import wizard. To view or change a user's locale see the Edit Your Language and Locale Settings.

Note: The date and time formats outlined in the documentation above are only applicable to orgs that have ICU locale formats enabled. See Determine Whether Your Org Uses ICU or JDK Locale Formats for more details.

Note: Include the date, but not time, when importing a Date field, or both date and time when importing a Date/Time field.
