Customizable Forecasting Retirement

Publish Date: Mar 10, 2026
Description

Customizable Forecasting was retired in the Summer ’20 release (July 2020). At Salesforce, customer success is our top priority, and as such, we recommend that you migrate your users to Collaborative Forecasts.

Why did Salesforce retire Customizable Forecasting?

We’re focusing our developmental efforts on the latest forecasting functionality. The replacement feature, Collaborative Forecasts, builds upon these efforts to improve our functionality and your experience.

How did this change impact me?

After the Summer ’20 release, users with the Allow Forecasting permission will no longer be able to access Customizable Forecasting data via the user interface or API.

To identify your impacted users, run a standard Users report. Users with access to Customizable Forecasting will have their Allow Forecasting permission set to True.

What action did I need to take, and what is the replacement for this feature?

We strongly recommend that you and your users migrate to Collaborative Forecasts and if necessary, export forecasting data out of Customizable Forecasting before the retirement date. You can do this by following the Configure Collaborative Forecasts Help topic as well as the Collaborative Forecasts Implementation Guide. This replacement covers all the major functional requirements of Customizable Forecasting, and provides additional capabilities. The forecasting grid will be similar to that of Customizable Forecasts, and users will also be able to adjust forecasts and see the opportunities that make up the forecasts.

If you use the original territory management feature, we also encourage you to migrate to Enterprise Territory Management.
