In both Classic and Lightning Experience, the Home page tab may not always be visible to users, even if the Profile's Tab setting is set to 'Default On' and the 'Home' tab is selected under the Customize My Tabs option.
1) Click Setup | Users | Profiles
a) Click the affected user's Profile
b) On Tab Settings | Home tab is already set as Default On for the affected users
1) Login in as User:
a) Home Page Tab is missing after logging in
b) Click the (+) icon to access All Tabs
c) Click Customize My Tabs
d) Home Tab is already part of the Selected Tabs
When the Enhanced Profile User Interface is enabled, it can interfere with tab visibility rendering in both Classic and Lightning Experience. Disabling it and resetting the Profile's tab customization overwrite resolves the issue.
To resolve issues with Home Page Tab visibility, please make sure to disable 'Enhanced Profile User Interface’ under User Management Settings.
In Lightning Experience or Classic Interface:
1) Click Setup | Users | User Management Settings
a) Toggle "Enhanced Profile User Interface" to Disabled
2) Enable Overwrite users personal tab customization:
a) Go to Setup | Quick find search for Profiles and click on the result
b) Click on Edit on affected Profile and Save (without making any changes)
c) If the issue persists, Edit the same Profile | Locate the Tab Settings section and check the box for "Overwrite users' personal tab customizations"
d) Click Save
