In the Account Engagement Application, there are several known internationalization issues. This article contains best practices for exporting data containing international characters from Account Engagement into third-party spreadsheet programs, an explanation of how time and date fields populate when exported from Account Engagement respective to a user’s timezone, and Japanese translations for English words that pertain to the Account Engagement Application.
○ When exporting Account Engagement data that contains Chinese or Japanese characters, Microsoft Excel may not render the data correctly. To work around this issue, you can import the exported file into Google Sheets, and the characters should display correctly. When you are ready to export the corrected data out of Google Sheets and import back into Account Engagement, you can export from Google Sheets in the following two ways:
- Download as a Microsoft Excel file (.xlsx): The characters should display correctly.
- Download as .csv: Use a text editor to open the file, as the character will garble again when opened in Microsoft Excel.
○ Time zone conversions for items based on a "day" do not function properly.
Anywhere Account Engagement displays a value with an incomplete timestamp containing only a date (reporting stats or "all day" calendar events), Account Engagement doesn't convert it properly respective to the user's time zone. Users west of EST will get Day N "converted" to Day N-1, and users far enough east can have Day N shift to Day N+1. The fix will involve rearchitecting of our system and the timing is currently TBD. In the meantime, we suggest adding the idea to our idea exchange on the Trailblazer Community:
