Global Publisher Actions Not Appearing for Users

Publiseringsdato: Aug 26, 2026
Beskrivelse

In Salesforce, Global Publisher Actions appear in the Chatter publisher on the Home page and in the Global Actions menu in Lightning Experience. When a Global Action is configured but does not appear, the most common cause is the Record Type being set to the default -Master - value, which may not be accessible to all profiles.

Scenario: "For example, a Salesforce admin creates a new Global Action for logging a call but notices it doesn't appear in the publisher for most users."

Løsning

This article explains why a configured Global Publisher Action can fail to appear for users, and how to fix it by changing the action's Record Type.

Why This Happens

The most common reason a Global Action doesn't appear is that its Record Type is left at the default --Master-- value. Depending on the profile, a user might not have access to that Record Type, so the Global Action doesn't show for them.

Steps to Fix

  1. Navigate to Global Actions:
    • In Classic: Click Setup | Create | Global Actions | Global Actions.
    • In Lightning: Click Setup | User Interface | Global Actions | Global Actions.
  2. Edit the corresponding action that is missing.
  3. Change the Record Type from --Master-- to a Record Type that you would like to use for the publisher action.
  4. Save your changes. Users whose profile has access to the new Record Type will now see the Global Action in the publisher.
