Since the Summer '18 release (214), CPQ updates in accordance with the Salesforce automatic upgrade schedule for the annual releases for Spring, Summer, and Winter package versions. The automatic upgrades are applicable to customers on Salesforce CPQ Summer '17 (208) and later. Product and Service notification emails are sent to inform users of the change.

NOTE: Salesforce CPQ Spring '20 (224) and Summer '20 (226) require users to follow this article to transition from Managed Package Licenses to Permission Set Licenses. This step must be taken before upgrade to Winter '21 (228) or later. PSL assignment must be verified each time a user becomes inactive or is added as an active user in these versions.
