ISSUE

When user opens Microsoft Outlook and Salesforce for Outlook Side Panel displays the message below and is unable to connect

Unable to get property 'Submit' of undefined or null reference

POSSIBLE ROOT CAUSE

This issue is related to the missing Internet Explorer 11 browser emulation values that are added to the registry when Salesforce for Outlook is installed

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION

Ratkaisu
To address this issue, you would need to make sure that the customer is on IE 11
Then verify that the customer has the following registry keys

The following 2 keys should be automatically added when you install the SFO app. If they are not added, try to uninstall SFO first, then reinstall using the "Everyone" option and then check these sections and make sure these  Outlook.exe and Sfdcmsol.exe are added and both values are set to 11000

Sometimes these values change due to other applications or your network security or Group policy, make sure the values are not changing when you restart Outlook and/or SFO.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION]
"OUTLOOK.EXE"=11000
"Sfdcmsol.EXE"=11000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION]

"OUTLOOK.EXE"=11000

This entry is to address a Microsoft bug and must be added
