Experience Cloud: Experience Site Login Page Loads When Administrator Accesses Experience Workspaces

Дата публикации: Jul 6, 2026
Описание

Why This Issue Occurs

When an administrator navigates to Experience Workspaces from Setup, they may be redirected to the Experience Site's login page instead of being taken directly to the Workspaces dashboard. This behavior also affects accessing the published site when navigating to the site URL via the link provided in Setup | Digital Experiences | All Sites, as well as from the App Launcher in Lightning Experience. In Salesforce Classic, the Global Header may not allow selection of a site to log into.
This occurs due to one or more of the following session and authentication configurations:

  • The profile setting Separate Experience Cloud site and Salesforce login authentication for employees is enabled.
  • The site's Allow employees to log in directly to an Experience Cloud site setting is disabled.
  • Session security settings such as Lock sessions to the IP address from which they originated, Lock sessions to the domain in which they were first used, or Enforce login IP ranges on every request are enabled.

Each of these conditions prevents automatic pass-through authentication from Salesforce to the Experience Site, requiring a separate login.

Решение

Try the following options in order and verify whether the issue is resolved after each step.

Option 1: Disable "Separate Experience Cloud site and Salesforce login authentication for employees"

  1. Navigate to:
    1. Salesforce Classic: Setup | Manage Users | Profiles
    2. Lightning Experience: Setup | Users | Profiles
  2. Locate your profile and click Edit (Standard Profile UI) or click the Profile name (Enhanced Profile UI).
  3. For the Standard Profile UI, scroll down to Session Settings and set Separate Experience Cloud site and Salesforce login authentication for employees to false. Then click Save.
  4. For the Enhanced Profile UI, select Session Settings under System. Click Edit and set Separate Experience Cloud site and Salesforce login authentication for employees to false. Click Save.
  5. Log out of Salesforce and log back in to establish a new login session.
  6. You can now access Workspaces without the need for a second login.

Note: These steps apply only if you do not need separate (internal and external) sessions for your profile. If you do need separate sessions, proceed to Option 2.

Option 2: Enable "Allow employees to log in directly to an Experience Cloud site"

  1. Follow the steps in Option 1 to temporarily disable Separate Experience Cloud site and Salesforce login authentication for employees and establish a new login session.
  2. Once you have access to Workspaces, navigate to:
    1. Salesforce Classic: Setup | Digital Experiences | All Sites | Workspaces (for the affected site)
    2. Lightning Experience: Gear icon | Setup | Digital Experiences | All Sites | Workspaces (for the affected site)
  3. Select Administration | Login & Registration.
  4. Set Allow employees to log in directly to an Experience Cloud site to True. Click Save.
  5. Re-enable Separate Experience Cloud site and Salesforce login authentication for employees on the profile.
  6. You should now be able to log into the Experience Cloud site when presented with the login page after clicking Workspaces.

Option 3: Adjust Session Security Settings

  1. Navigate to:
    1. Salesforce Classic: Setup | Security Controls | Session Settings
    2. Lightning Experience: Setup | Session Settings
  2. Uncheck the following settings:
    1. Lock sessions to the IP address from which they originated
    2. Lock sessions to the domain in which they were first used
    3. Enforce login IP ranges on every request
  3. Click Save.

Note: These settings are only available in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Edition organizations. If your organization is not among these editions, you will not have access to this setting.
