Enhanced Email with 'Outlook Integration' and 'Gmail Integration'

When you Set Up Enhanced Email with Outlook Integration or Gmail Integration, emails from Outlook or Gmail are added to Salesforce records as Email Message, and not as Tasks. And, to meet compliance regulations around the authenticity of emails, we follow these guidelines when adding emails to Salesforce records as Email Message objects:

• Emails can only be added to Contacts and Leads records with email addresses in the To, CC, or From fields of the original email.
• In Outlook and OWA, Users cannot search and relate emails to Contacts and Leads that are not included in the email.
• Users can add emails to Opportunities, Accounts and custom objects.
• Unlike with Tasks, emails added with the Email Message object can't be edited in Salesforce.
• When adding emails to Salesforce using the Email Message object, Users can add emails from the specific Lead or Contact record displayed in the Outlook integration or Gmail integration. They can only be added to People records in the To, CC and From fields that are Contacts or Leads.
