This article explains how to request an increase to the maximum number of custom profiles allowed within your Salesforce organization. Custom profiles are used to define user permissions and access settings. Organizations with complex security models may require additional profiles beyond the default limit. For example, a large enterprise managing multiple business units, each with unique permissions for Sales, Service, and Admin users, may need more than the default limit of 1,500 custom profiles per license type.
Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
Default: Administrators can create a maximum of 1,500 custom profiles per user license type. Note: For Professional Edition, the maximum number of custom profiles they can create is 3.
Maximum: Determined by Account Executive approval based on license type and allocation.
Contact your Account Executive to request a limit increase.
Custom profile limits are tied to your license type and cannot be self-service increased. This requires Account Executive approval to ensure proper license allocation.
To increase the maximum number of custom profiles beyond the current limit, you'll need assistance from your Account Executive.
