Pricing Waterfall with ChannelDiscountsOffList__c
Regular Unit Price = List Unit Price - System Discounts (example: Discount Schedule tier discounts)
Customer Unit Price = Regular Unit Price - Additional Discount (and Additional Discount % is still based off of the Regular Unit Price, not List Unit Price)
Partner Unit Price = Customer Unit Price - Partner Discount (here the Partner Discount percentage is based off List Unit Price instead of Customer Unit Price)
Net Unit Price = Partner Unit Price - Distributor Discount (here the Distributor Discount percentage is based off List Unit Price instead of Customer Unit Price)
NOTE: Additional Discount % applies its percentage off of Regular Unit Price. Partner and Distributor apply their discount percent based on list price additively.
Example
If you have a Quote Line that is priced at $1000 and has a quantity that meets a Discount Tier of 10% from a Discount Schedule, a 20% Additional Discount, a 20% Partner Discount, and a 50% Distributor Discount, the $1000 price is first discounted $100 by the 10% Discount Schedule, $700 by the Partner and Distributor Discounts ( 0.2 + 0.5 off of List), and 180 by an Additional Discount % (0.2 of 900 - the Regular Unit Price after the Discount Schedule is applied).
Below is the behavior of Renewals generated by Salesforce CPQ in combination with this special field depending on the Renewal Pricing Method Value set on the Account.
Same:
This Renewal Pricing Method Maps over the List Unit Price from your Price Book, and System discounts apply to Regular Unit Price. Then the Customer Price pulls to the Renewal Quote.
Regular Unit Price minus Customer Unit Price on the Subscription creates the Additional Discount (Amt) and maps it appropriately to the Renewal Quote. Partner and Distributor Discounts do not map to the Renewal.
List:
This Renewal Pricing Method Maps List Unit Price from the Pricebook, only system discounts are applied on the Renewal Quote for Quote Lines to achieve Regular Unit Price.
Uplift:
This value sees the same behavior as Same for Renewal Pricing Method, but Renewal Uplift is applied as a Percentage of Customer Unit Price and applied in the Additional Disc. (Amt) field.
AMENDMENTS
All discounts are not editable on amendment lines.
