Event Monitoring Objects

Event Monitoring contains the EventLogFile and LoginEvent objects. EventLogFile records contain operational log lines for a variety of event types. LoginEvent is used by Login Forensics functionality to provide additional information about trackable user logins.


Limitations in CRM Analytics

Neither the EventLogFile nor the LoginEvent objects can be directly digested by CRM Analytics.

Event Monitoring Analytics App

The Event Monitoring Analytics App contains built-in data handling for a subset of EventLogFile Event Types. These dashboards and the included Event Types are documented in Event Monitoring Analytics App Prebuilt Dashboards.

 

Extract and Upload as External Data


EventLogFile Event Types that are not included in the Event Monitoring Analytics App and LoginEvent records can be extracted via API. Refer to Query Event Log Files and Download and Visualize Event Log Files for guidance.

Once extracted, they can be uploaded into CRM Analytics as a standalone dataset, either via CSV or through the External Data API. This action requires a CRM Analytics license in addition to Event Monitoring/Login Forensics.
