Salesforce Campaign Object is missing from Synchronized Data Source selection

When using Synchronized Data Sources with Marketing Cloud Connect, the Campaign Object may be missing from the Synchronized Data Source selection.  You would generally see all other objects, but 'Campaign' is missing. 
 

This is most often caused by the System User (formerly Tracking User) not being assigned as a 'Marketing User' in Salesforce. This is required to be able to synchronize the Campaign Object. For additional details, see our 'Who has access to Campaigns?' documentation.

Steps to confirm and Resolve:


Within the Classic UI:

  1. Sign in to your Salesforce organization.
  2. Click Setup | Administer | Manage Users.
  3. Click Users and find your System User.
  4. Select the 'Marketing User' field.
  5. Click Save.


Within the Lightning UI:

  1. Sign in to your Salesforce organization.
  2. Move into Setup.
  3. Search for Users in the global search box.
  4. Select Users and find your System User.
  5. Select the 'Marketing User' field.
  6. Click Save.
