Considerations for CRM Analytics in organizations with API Access Control enabled

Veröffentlichungsdatum: May 1, 2026
Beschreibung

If your Salesforce organization has API Access Control enabled with the policy setting "For admin-approved users, limit API access to only allowlisted connected apps", access to CRM Analytics will be blocked unless the CRM Analytics Web Connected App is installed and the system-generated CRM Analytics user profiles are added to its approved list.
When attempting to access Analytics Studio, the Analytics tab, or when running Analytics Flows, this may manifest as one of the following errors or behaviors:

  • Error: "A network error occurred. Please ensure you have network connectivity and retry your last action."
  • Jobs remaining in a Queued or Running state and eventually failing with: "Job killed due to inactivity."

For more information on API Access Control, refer to the Salesforce Connected App documentation.

Lösung

This article explains how to resolve CRM Analytics access issues caused by API Access Control settings in Salesforce. The resolution involves confirming that API Access Control is enabled, installing the required CRM Analytics Connected Apps, and adding the CRM Analytics user profiles to each app's approved list.

Step 1 — Confirm that API Access Control is enabled:

  1. Navigate to Setup and search for Security, then select API Access Control.
  2. If the following setting is listed and enabled, API Access Control is active: "Limit API access to connected apps to those with the policy, 'For admin-approved users, limit API access to only allowlisted connected apps'."

Step 2 — Install and configure the CRM Analytics Connected Apps:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Connected Apps OAuth Usage.
  2. Locate the apps named "Insights" and "Wave Web". Click Install beside each app.
  3. After both apps are installed, click Manage App Policies beside each app.
  4. Under Profiles, click Manage Profiles for each app.
  5. Select the "Analytics Cloud Integration User" and "Analytics Cloud Security User" profiles. Click Save. Repeat for each CRM Analytics Connected App.
  6. Confirm that Recipes, Dataflows, File Uploads, Data Sync, and Dashboard navigation now work as expected.
