Financial Services - Considerations for Converting Leads

Please be aware of the following considerations when converting Leads in Financial Services (formerly known as Financial Services Cloud).

  1. Leads using the 'General' Record Type should only be converted into Accounts that use the 'Business' Record Type.
  2. Leads using a B2C Record Type (e.g. Retirement Planning) should only be converted into Accounts that use the 'Individual' Record Type
  3. When you convert a Lead to an Account using an Individual record type you may not see the option to navigate to the Contact that was created.  If you are presented with the option, you may see a "Look's like there was a problem error."
  4.  Lead conversion using the Individual record type will drop any data value mapped to the converted Contact record when field is already populated in new Individual Contact record. The Individual Contact record is favoured. This does not happen within Person Account as the Lead conversion and mapping will also resolve as expected since there is no additional consolidation of Contact records behind the scenes.
