Sometimes, Side Panel does not load in Outlook or does not display record information for emails you click. For troubleshooting purposes to make sure the issue is not related to Outlook or have a different approach you can view the Side Panel content in the browser. Try this in IE and Chrome.

https://NA*.salesforce.com/clients/sidepanel/sidepanelcontainer.apexp?

The NA* must be replaced with your own instance or custom domain URL, basically in your browser remove everything from the right side of the .com/ in the URL address bar and paste clients/sidepanel/sidepanelcontainer.apexp?

Example:
https://na6.salesforce.com/clients/sidepanel/sidepanelcontainer.apexp?

To display record information in the browser, you add the following to the end of the URL before
emailIds=.

Example:
https://na6.salesforce.com/clients/sidepanel/sidepanelcontainer.apexp?emailIds=john.doe@abc.com

Replace john.doe@abc.com with your record's email address.

Note: The john.doe@abc.com is an email in your org associated with a record such as a contact or lead.

Compare your results with what you see in the Outlook side panel. If you are able to display record information in your browser but not in Outlook, then the issue could be related to the SFO installation or Outlook security settings such as Macros.
