Salesforce users who use Google Chrome as their web browser may encounter the following behavior in Lightning Experience: when selecting the Email tab to load the Email Composer, the body section — which contains the formatting toolbar and the text entry area — does not render or load. The Email Composer header may appear, but the body where the email content is composed remains blank.
This issue specifically affects users running Google Chrome and accessing Salesforce Lightning Experience (LEX). It does not typically occur in other browsers.
The root cause of the Email Composer body not loading is the Block third-party cookies setting in Google Chrome. Salesforce Lightning Experience requires third-party cookies to be allowed in order to render the Email Composer body section correctly. Third-party cookies enable Salesforce components to communicate across frames within the browser, and blocking them prevents the body area from loading.
To resolve this issue, disable the Block third-party cookies setting in Chrome:
