This change applies to Lightning Experience for Essential, Group, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.
You may encounter an issue in which a list view search does not yield the expected result. Instead, the search returns the error, "No items to display".
To optimize list views in the Salesforce Classic UI, please review Create Custom List View in Salesforce Classic.
This behavior is expected.
Due to SOQL limitations, list views are limited to first 2,000 records returned by the filter criteria. To confirm that the list view contains more than 2000 records you can create a report with the same criteria as list view to get the exact record count.
Also, changing the sorting within the list view affects the behavior and the order of records.
Note: If a record still falls outside of the first 2000 records within a current sort, this will still result in a "No items to display" message.
