'Show Values' Option Unavailable in Dashboard Components and Report Charts

Description

When editing a Salesforce Dashboard Component by clicking Edit Attributes and navigating to the Formatting tab, you may notice that the Show Values data label option is not available. This is expected behavior.
The Show Values option in the Salesforce Dashboard Component Editor is only available for specific chart types and specific grouping configurations. If your chart type or grouping settings do not meet the required criteria, the option does not appear.

This article describes which Salesforce Dashboard chart types and configurations support the Show Values option. Use this guide to confirm whether the option is expected to be available in your setup.

Chart Types That Support Show Values

Horizontal Bar Chart and Vertical Bar Chart
The Show Values option is available only when:

  • The Group By option under the Component Data tab is set to None, OR
  • The Group By option has a value selected AND the Grouping Display is set to Side-by-side.
Note: Show Values is NOT available when the Grouping Display is set to Stacked or Stacked to 100%.

Line Chart, Pie Chart, Donut Chart, and Funnel Chart
The Show Values option is available only when the Group By option under the Component Data tab is set to None.

Note: Show Values is not available for Line Chart in Lightning Experience's Report Chart.
