The 'Account Engagement URL' in Salesforce Links to the Wrong Prospect in Account Engagement

The Account Engagement URL field in Salesforce is automatically updated with the URL of the syncing prospect in Account Engagement upon its first sync. The URL can be followed to view the syncing prospect in Account Engagement . However, there are certain scenarios where this field can begin linking to the wrong prospect. In these situations, it is possible for the prospect sync process to be affected.

Merged records

When merging records in Salesforce, take note of which Account Engagement URL value is being retained. Ensure the resulting merged record uses the Account Engagement URL value for the prospect the record you wish to sync with. If the wrong URL is present, you can correct it by copying and pasting the correct URL from the prospect record in Account Engagement .

Cloned records

If you clone a record that is syncing with a prospect in Account Engagement , the Account Engagement URL is also copied. When you click this URL, it brings you to the Account Engagement prospect that the original record is syncing with. You can correct this error by copying and pasting the correct URL from the prospect record in Account Engagement onto the record in Salesforce.

Two Instances of Account Engagement 

If you have two separate Account Engagement instances connected to one Salesforce instance, the Account Engagement URL is used to indicate which instance of Account Engagement the Salesforce record syncs with. If the Account Engagement prospect is switched to sync with a different record in Salesforce, the Account Engagement URL no longer links to the correct prospect in Account Engagement . You can correct this error by copying and pasting the correct URL from the prospect record in Account Engagement onto the record in Salesforce.

Manually entered URL

Bad Account Engagement URL in Salesforce can be a result of simple user error. If the Account Engagement URL field is manually changed or copied from the wrong prospect, it won’t link to the correct prospect. You can correct this error by copying and pasting the correct URL from the prospect record in Account Engagement onto the record in Salesforce.
