Salesforce Chatter allows users to @mention individual people or Chatter Groups to direct their attention to a specific post or comment. To @mention someone, type the @ symbol followed by the first few letters of the person's or group's name in a post or comment field.
Note: This article applies to Chatter Groups only. It does not apply to Public Groups.
Example use case: A Salesforce user tries to @mention a colleague in a Chatter post but the user does not appear in the suggestion dropdown.
