Prevent Account Engagement Email Links from Being Re-written

Julkaisupäivä: Sep 30, 2025
Kuvaus
Account Engagement uses the primary tracker domain on the Account Engagement account to rewrite email links for tracking prospect email link clicks.
Ratkaisu

There are 2 options for prevent prospects from seeing rewritten email links.

1. Prevent rewriting of the email link(s) entirely

To prevent the link from tracking and being re-written, removing http or https from the beginning of the link before sending the email. See Email Link Tracking documentation for additional details.

2. Hide the rewritten link for cosmetic reasons

To hide the rewritten link for cosmetic reasons but still track the clicks, the link can be written out as www.example.com (without the https://) and then hyperlinked to https://www.example.com. Additionally the www. portion is optional depending on how the page is configured.

To accomplish this, type out the URL in the email without the http/https. Then highlight the URL and click the link icon button in the email editor. Enter the URL again into the URL field that pops up after clicking the link icon button.

If this is done, the HTML code will look like this:

<a href="https://www.example.com">www.example.com</a>

When the email is sent and links rewritten, Account Engagement will rewrite the link within the href:

<a href="https://go.example.com/e/519331/2018-11-16/4tf36f/2540879876">www.example.com</a>

But the prospect would only see www.example.com in the email since the rewritten link is hidden. Note that the go.example.com link should be replaced by the account's primary Tracker Domain.
