Chatter Publisher, Chatter Feed, and Chatter Components Not Available in Salesforce Lightning App Builder When Editing a Record Page

Julkaisupäivä: Jul 7, 2026
Kuvaus

When a Salesforce user navigates to a record page, opens the gear icon (⚙️) menu, and selects Edit Page to launch the Lightning App Builder, they may find that Chatter components — such as Chatter Publisher, Chatter Feed, and Chatter — are not available in the component panel on the left side.
This issue occurs because the Chatter components in Lightning App Builder depend on Feed Tracking being enabled for the object associated with the record page. Feed Tracking is a Salesforce feature that monitors changes to records and posts updates to the Chatter feed. If Feed Tracking is not enabled for the object, the Chatter-related components are hidden and cannot be added to the page layout.

Ratkaisu

To make Chatter components available in the Lightning App Builder for a specific object's record page, you must enable Feed Tracking for that object.

Step 1 — Enable Feed Tracking for the Object

  1. Go to Setup and search for Feed Tracking in the Quick Find box.
  2. Click Feed Tracking.
  3. Select the object for which you want to add Chatter components (for example, Accounts, Cases, or a custom object).
  4. Check the box Enable Feed Tracking.
  5. Select the fields you want to track (optional but recommended for meaningful Chatter activity).
  6. Click Save.

Step 2 — Add Chatter Components in Lightning App Builder

  1. Navigate back to the record page where you want to add Chatter components.
  2. Click the gear icon (⚙️) and select Edit Page.
  3. In the Lightning App Builder component panel, search for Chatter — you should now see Chatter Publisher, Chatter Feed, and related components.
  4. Drag the desired Chatter component onto the page layout.
  5. Click Save and then Activate the page if needed.
