Learn why paragraph spacing is farther apart in the received HTML email

Scenario:

  • I have created a HTML email template in Salesforce where paragraphs are separated by one line. When it arrives in some email clients there are larger gaps between the paragraphs (double spacing). It appears fine when I receive it on Gmail or similar.


Cause:

  • This issue is caused by some email clients interpreting line breaks slightly differently than others. Every time there is a line break in the email or template some email clients may use double spacing.
Solución


Modify your template

1. Open the template and click the Edit HTML Version button.
2. Everywhere there is a line space between the paragraph press the delete key to remove the line, then press Shift + Enter/Return Key.


Note: This ensures that only a single line break is applied to the HTML code. Validate the spacing of lines in a variety of email clients if needed.
