Increase the Maximum Number of Sharing Rules per Entity

Julkaisupäivä: Apr 22, 2026
Kuvaus

This article explains how to request an increase to the maximum number of Sharing Rules allowed per entity (per object). Sharing Rules are used to extend record access beyond your organization-wide defaults, and some organizations with complex access requirements may need to increase these limits.

There are two types of Sharing Rules limits per entity:

  1. A general Sharing Rules limit that counts for all sharing rules, including criteria-based. The default limit is 300 and can be increased to a maximum of 500 through a limit increase request with Support.
  2. A separate criteria-based Sharing Rules limit. The default limit is 50 and can be increased to a maximum of 200 through a limit increase request with Support.

Note:

Too many sharing rules can slow down inserts and updates. As a best practice, review your organization's sharing rules to determine if a limit increase is necessary.
