This article explains the behavior where values in fields hidden by Page Layout or Field-Level Security are not carried over when cloning a record.
This behavior is working as designed. Currently, the cloning operation only carries over field values that are displayed on the screen.
If a field is set to hidden via Page Layout or Field-Level Security, the value in that field is not transferred to the new record during the cloning process. Consequently, even if the field is made visible again after cloning, the field in the new record will not contain a value.
