When emails with embedded or inline images are added from Outlook or Gmail to Salesforce, the images are treated as separate attachments and are saved in the 'Attachments' related list of the email message record as Salesforce Files (Content Document).
When you add the emails with inline attachments using Salesforce for Outlook side panel or Inbox app for iOS and Android, those emails are added to Salesforce as Task record (not Email Message) where the attachments are added as Salesforce Attachments (not Files).
The same behavior is observed if you disable 'Enhanced Email' from your Salesforce organization and use Outlook Integration, Outlook Integration with Inbox, Gmail Integration, or Gmail Integration with Inbox.
