Some Salesforce users may not be able to locate the 'Subscribe to Reports: Add Recipients' permission when configuring profile permissions in Salesforce. This permission allows users to subscribe to a report and add other recipients to receive scheduled report emails. This article explains the prerequisite setting that must be enabled before this permission becomes available.

Prerequisite: Enable Enhanced Folder Sharing for Reports

The 'Subscribe to Reports: Add Recipients' permission is only available when Enhanced Folder Sharing is enabled for reports in your Salesforce org. Enhanced Folder Sharing replaces the legacy folder model with a more granular, role-based sharing system for reports and dashboards.

Steps to Enable Enhanced Folder Sharing

  1. Navigate to Setup.
  2. In the Quick Find box, search for 'Reports and Dashboards Settings'.
  3. Enable 'Enhanced Folder Sharing'.
  4. Once enabled, the 'Subscribe to Reports: Add Recipients' permission and other report permissions such as 'View Reports in Public Folders' will become available in Profile settings.

Note: Other permissions like 'View Reports in Public Folders' will be available after the Enhanced Folder Sharing is activated.
