Calculate the storage size which is provided by Salesforce

With Spring '19, customers can now Enjoy Increased Data Storage.

Salesforce org's are allotted different storage amounts which are calculated based on edition and provisioned license types, counts, and products.

For an overview of how basic storage usage is calculated for your organization refer to the Data and Storage Resources documentation.

In addition to storage amounts granted through standard user licenses, storage my be allocated or provided through feature, permission set, or other license types provisioned for your specific org.

An administrator can View Your Organization’s User Licenses and refer to the User Licenses documentation to see if additional storage may be provided for your org's specific license types in order to calculate allotted storage.

 

Storage is calculated in binary values where 1 MB is equal to 1024 KB. For example, a storage value of 92,760 MB would equate to 90.6 GB (92,760 / 1024 = 90.58). The storage values displayed in setup are rounded to the first decimal place.


Note: Salesforce Support does not have access to modify storage amounts or the ability to breakdown storage usage allocation for an org. Analyzing current licenses and storage calculations for each license type is not within the scope of Salesforce Support. If client side calculations based on current licenses and documentation do not match your org's currently provisioned storage amounts or you have specific questions or concerns regarding allotted storage usage for your organization please contact your Account Executive or Account Team for further details.
 
For certain use cases, data archival is a strong alternative to storage. The Archive app minimizes storage usage by automatically archiving old or inactive data. It includes the Storage Analyzer, a visualization tool that highlights the top objects consuming storage and their usage history. Use this information to plan your data and file management strategy.
