UNSUPPORTED_API_VERSION: Invalid Api version specified on URL

Udgivelsesdato: May 7, 2026
Beskrivelse

Workbench is a free, community-supported web application that allows Salesforce administrators and developers to interact with their Salesforce orgs via the Salesforce APIs. When a new version of Salesforce is released to Sandbox environments, the default API version in the Workbench tool is automatically incremented. This new version may not yet be valid for Production or Developer Edition orgs. If you attempt to log into Workbench using a Production or Developer org when the default API version is set higher than what the org supports, the following error appears: UNSUPPORTED_API_VERSION: Invalid Api version specified on URL.

Løsning

To resolve the UNSUPPORTED_API_VERSION error in Workbench, manually downgrade the API version in Workbench Settings to a version that is currently supported by your Production or Developer org:

  1. Hover over the Workbench label in the top navigation.
  2. Select Settings from the dropdown.
  3. Change Default API Version to one version lower. For example, if the selected API version is 40.0 and you are receiving this error, change it to 39.0.
  4. Click Apply Settings at the bottom of the page.
  5. Select the Workbench icon in the taskbar from your org again. Workbench should now behave as designed.
This setting is saved in the browser cache. If you clear your cache or use an incognito browser window, you will need to update this setting again.

Important Note About Workbench

Workbench is not a product officially supported by Salesforce. It is a community-built tool. For issues with Workbench itself, refer to the Workbench GitHub repository.
