System Administrator Guide: Reset Multiple User Passwords in Bulk

Description

System Administrators and Delegated Administrators can reset passwords for multiple users simultaneously or expire all passwords at once. This is useful during security incidents, when implementing new password policies, or during employee offboarding processes.

Follow the steps below to reset passwords for multiple users or expire passwords for all users in Lightning and Classic.

Resolution

Reset passwords for multiple Users at once

In Salesforce Lightning Experience

  1. Click the gear icon.
  2. Click Setup.
  3. On the Quick Find box, enter Users.
  4. Select the names of the Users.
  5. Click Reset Password(s).

In Salesforce Classic UI

  1. Click Setup.
  2. In the Quick Find box, enter Users.
  3. Select the names of the Users
  4. Click Reset Password(s).

Expire passwords for ALL Users at once

In Salesforce Lightning Experience

1. Click the gear icon.
2. Click Setup.
3. In the Quick Find box, enter Expire All Passwords.
4. Select Expire all user passwords.
5. Click Save.

In Salesforce Classic UI

1. Click Setup.
2. In the Quick Find box, enter Expire All Passwords.
3. Select Expire all user passwords.
4. Click Save.
