Unable to Deactivate a Salesforce User Due to Web-to-Lead or Other Configuration Dependencies

Publiseringsdato: Oct 13, 2022
Beskrivelse

When attempting to deactivate a Salesforce user (typically a system administrator), an error message may be received such as: "You cannot disable the Web to Lead Default Creator." This error occurs when the user being deactivated is referenced in one or more active Salesforce configurations, such as Web-to-Lead, Assignment Rules, Auto Response Rules, or Approval Processes. The sections below identify common blockers and the Setup locations where each can be reassigned.

Løsning

A Salesforce user cannot be deactivated if they are referenced in active configurations. The sections below list the most common dependencies and where to find each setting in Setup to reassign it to another user.
Note: Salesforce now offers the option to Freeze a user record. Freezing temporarily suspends a user account while you work through the deactivation steps. See Freezing User Accounts for details.

Web-to-Lead Default Creator

In Salesforce Classic: Setup | Customize | Leads | Web to Lead

In Lightning Experience: Gear Icon | Setup | Feature Settings | Marketing | Web-to-Lead

  1. Click Edit.
  2. Change the Default Lead Creator to another active user.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Return to the user record and deactivate the user by unchecking the Active checkbox.

Note: When you receive the error, a direct link to the relevant Setup location is often provided. If links do not work in Lightning Experience, switch to Salesforce Classic to complete the change.
