Error 'This user, as the Default Lead Creator, must have the Modify All Data and Send Email permissions'

To Change the Default Lead Creator (Classic and Lightning)

Before changing the profile of the affected user, first update the Default Lead Creator setting to a different user who has the required permissions. Then return to the original user's record to change their profile.

1. Go to Setup.
2. In the Quick Find box, enter Web and click Web-to-Lead.
3. Click Edit.
4. On the "Default Lead Creator" field, click the magnifying glass icon and search for the new default lead creator. The selected user must have the "Modify All Data" and "Send Email" permissions enabled.
5. Click Save.

After changing the Default Lead Creator, return to the original user's record and change their profile.

Note: Professional Edition Orgs

In a Professional Edition organization, the Default Lead Creator must be set to another System Administrator. This is because, in Professional Edition, only the System Administrator profile includes both the "Modify All Data" and "Send Email" permissions. No other available profile in Professional Edition meets these requirements.
