Set Event availability status to 'Out of Office'

In order to allow users to set an Event's availability status, an administrator must first add the 'Show Time As' field to event page layouts.
Note:

  • The 'Show Time As' field's values display Events with designated colors in Salesforce Classic Calendars. There is currently no way to change or configure the default values or color assignments: 'Out of Office' (red), 'Busy' (purple), or 'Available' (no color).
  • Setting this field's values has no impact on how events are displayed in the calendars for the Lightning Experience.
Løsning

To allow users to set their availability status (such as Out of Office, Busy, or Available) on Events in Salesforce, a System Administrator must first add the 'Show Time As' field to the Event page layout. Once added, users can select their availability when creating or editing Events.

In Salesforce Classic

  1. Click Setup | App Setup | Customize | Activities | Event Page Layouts.
  2. Edit the desired page layout.
  3. Add the 'Show Time As' field into the page layout.
  4. Save.

In Salesforce Lightning Experience

  1. Click Setup | Object Manager | Events | Page Layouts.
  2. Edit the desired page layout.
  3. Add the 'Show Time As' field to the page layout.
  4. Save.

The user may then set the availability field when creating or editing an Event.
