1. Flush local DNS cache for any stale entries:
For Windows:
To clear your DNS cache if you use Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11 perform the following steps:
1. Click Start.
2. Enter cmd in the Start menu search text box.
3. Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
4. Run the following command:
ipconfig /flushdns
If the command succeeds, the system returns the following message:
Windows IP configuration successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
MacOS® 10.10.4 and above:
To clear your DNS cache if you use MacOS X version 10.10.4 or above, perform the following steps:
1.Click Applications.
2.Click Utilities.
3.Click Terminal.
4.Run the following command:
sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
If the command succeeds, the system does not return any output.
Warning:
To run this command, you must know the computer's administrator account password.
2. Use an alternate DNS service:
If the errors continue after flushing the local DNS cache, it might be necessary to bypass the DNS service or provider for your ISP or local network connection. To do this, users can utilize a public DNS service such as Google Public DNS or Cloudflare Public DNS. Users can work with their local IT team for assistance with this step.
3. Troubleshoot with third-party providers:
If a cloud security, web optimization, or other third-party cloud service is actively routing your network's Salesforce traffic, it might be necessary to reach out to your local IT or Network team and ensure that those providers follow the DNS Timeout value best practices, or work with those providers to clear out any stale DNS entries. If problems continue after trying the troubleshooting steps above, it might be necessary for your ISP or local IT and Network teams to clear out any stale DNS entries or work with your DNS vendor to clear out any stale DNS entries.
