Import Opportunities into Salesforce

Data Loader is available in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, Developer, and Database.com Editions.

Professional Edition can only use Data Loader if the org is 'API enabled.'

1. Watch How To Import Data into Salesforce Series to prepare a .csv (comma separated values) file. For more information, review Prepare a CSV file for an import or update in Salesforce.
2. Open Data Loader application and click the Insert button.
3. Log in to Data Loader using your Salesforce credentials plus the security token. Please review, Reset Your Security Token.
4. Click on Login and Next.
5. Select the Salesforce object (scroll down until you see Opportunity then select it).
6. Select the file previously saved as .csv file.
7. Click Next, then click OK.
8. You'll have a new window with the columns from the file, click on Create or Edit Map button.
9. Click on Auto-Match Fields To Columns.
10. Once you have the required fields mapped, click Finish to complete the import.
