When adding products to a custom Price Book using Data Loader, you may encounter the error:
“No standard price defined for this product.”
This occurs because Salesforce requires every product to have a Standard Price Book entry before it can be added to any custom Price Book.
This error occurs when the product is not added to the Standard Price Book.
To resolve the issue:
Once the Standard Price is defined, you can successfully add the product to a custom Price Book.
Note
Salesforce enforces a dependency where all products must first exist in the Standard Price Book before being used in custom Price Books or transactions.
