Clone Opportunities with Products

This article explains how to clone an Opportunity together with its Products (line items) in both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience.

Clone Opportunities with Products in Salesforce Classic

You can take advantage of Salesforce CRM's Clone feature to increase your efficiency in entering multiple Opportunities with similar values:

1. When viewing an Opportunity, click on the "Clone" button at the top of the record. If the opportunity has products associated to it, the clone button will be a drop-down menu to choose to clone it with or without products. This will bring up the New Opportunity screen and pre-populate the fields based on the values in the first record. Manually modify any values that need to be different.
2. Click "Save".
3. Repeat this process as needed.

Clone Opportunities with Products in Lightning Experience

Cloning Opportunities with Products is also available in Lightning Experience as of the Spring '20 release.

1. When viewing an Opportunity, click on the "Clone with Related" button on the top-right part of the record. An Opportunity can be cloned with contact roles, products, or product (line item) schedules. Select "Opportunity Product" as the selected record.
2. Click "Next", then modify the values that need to be different.
3. Click "Save".

Notes

• The drop-down on the Clone button will appear only when the Opportunity has Products associated to it and those Products and Price Book are in active status.
• If the "Clone with Related" button is not available on the record in Lightning Experience even though it has related contact roles, products, or product (line item) schedules, add the button on the Page Layout (see Additional Resources).
• For Opportunity records where the products were deleted from the Products related list, you will still see the Price Book name that was associated with it. When you clone the record, the Price Book name will not show on the cloned record.
• Note that the user cloning the record must have access to the Record Type being used by the current record. If they do not, an "insufficient privileges" error will be displayed.
